IPG’s data unit Acxiom has laid off nearly 3.5% of its workforce, according to two people with direct knowledge and internal documents reviewed by ADWEEK.

In an internal email, leadership cited the cuts were part of internal restructuring. Meanwhile, a separate internal message, obtained by ADWEEK, said that executive level layoffs had been anticipated since the announcement that Kinesso and Acxiom would operate under the same leadership, and “coincided with the Omnicom related cost cuts.”

Shareholders approved Omnicom’s acquisition of IPG on March 18, but it still awaits final regulatory clearance.

Roles impacted include account management, client services, financial analysts, and strategic partnerships.
